The Life of Esther Jane Hopkins
Esther Jane Hopkins, 87, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Hewitt Health Care of Shelton. Esther was born in Shelton on December 11, 1926 the beloved daughter of the late Herbert J. and Mabel Killingbeck Hopkins. She attended the Church of the Good Shepherd of Shelton and was a lifelong resident. Esther was a retired nurses''aide for Jacqueline''s Service of Shelton. She is survived by a nephew Mark Hopkins and his wife Mary of Stratford and a niece Patricia Glattharr and her husband Thomas of Purchase, NY and a dear friend Laura Lavin of Shelton. Esther was predeceased by her two brothers Franklyn Hopkins and Joseph Frederick Hopkins. A private service was held at Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia with the Rev. Richard Beattie interim pastor of Christ Episcopal Church of Ansonia. Memorial gifts may be made in Esther''s memory to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111
