The Life of SCOTT LAVERN BUCKROYD
Scott Buckroyd, 51, was born May 24, 1962, in Des Moines, the son of Tom and Jane Buckroyd. Scott passed away surrounded by his family February 27, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 3, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens with family receiving friends and family from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 12:00 PM with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens.
Scott graduated from Ankeny High School, where he loved playing football. He married Caroline Steinbach in July 1984 and together they had two sons Justin and Josh. Scott was employed at Firestone for the past 26 years.
Scott enjoyed watching NASCAR, NFL football, especially the Green Bay Packers, fishing and traveling.
Scott is survived by his wife Caroline; sons, Justin (Heidi) and Josh (Susie); brother Tom; sister Sue Evans (Barry); mother-in-law Pauline Steinbach; sisters-in-law Kathy Lee (Steve), Paulette Ihrig (Larry), Cindy McDonough (Dan), Cheryl Temple (Scott), Claudia Van Der Sluis (Mark), and Clarice Steinbach (Scott); brothers-in-law, Alan Steinbach (Alice), Chris Steinbach (Kathy), and many nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Tom Buckroyd, father-in-law Donald Steinbach, brother-in-law Donnie Steinbach, and niece Bernadette Lee.
