The Life of Joanie Kaltenbach

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at an 11:00 AM Service at First Baptist Church in Lafayette, for Joanie Yount Kaltenbach, age 79, who died on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Bethany Health Care Center in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Dr. Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church will conduct the funeral services. Vocalists will be Reverend Luther Burney.

Survivors include three daughters, Michelle Kaltenbach, Mignon Equerme and Gretchen Kaltenbach; one son, Winston Kaltenbach; five grandchildren, Jake Kaltenbach, Ashley Hutchins, Nicole Equerme, Chelsea Kaltenbach and Travis Kaltenbach; and one brother, Jack Yount.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Marie Yount.

Mrs. Kaltenbach was born on January 25, 1935 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for fifty two years. Mrs. Kaltenbach was a Registered Nurse who loved working with children. She was very generous to many charities that stayed close to her heart. Mrs. Kaltenbach was well known for her baking and her seasonal decorations, which were often over the top for the occasion. She loved to decorate and express her artistic side. Mrs. Kaltenbach was a member of First Baptist Church in Lafayette. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Gale, Winston Kaltenbach, Travis Kaltenbach, Brett Yount, Chris Yount and Randy Guidry.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
