The Life of JOHN J. KISSINGER


John J. Kissinger, 71, passed away July 17,

surrounded by his loving family in the

Reading Health System. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Stasik) Kissinger.

John was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church. He belonged to the Liberty Fire Assoc., and the Goodwill Fire Co.

He was employed at Wells Fargo for over 20 years and

also worked as a custodian for Holy Name High School.

John served in the U.S. Army serving in North Korea and two tours in Turkey.

He was an avid N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants fan. John

was an avid storyteller about experiences in his life and was known as "the mayor of Laurel Street" by his neighbors and friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Ann Kissinger of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Miriam, wife of Joseph Lisa; and Margaret Greely, all of Reading.

John was close to his nieces: Kathleen Archambault,

Karen Martinez and Michelle Ackey; and his nephews,

Joseph and Mark Lisa. He is also survived by many grand-nephews and grand-nieces, including his right-hand girl Erica Sweigart; cousins; and his granddog, Wynsome.

He was predeceased by his former wife, Susan (Dinkel) Kissinger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Resurrection at

Gethsemane Cemetery. Burial will follow.
