The Life of HELEN C. MITCHELL

Helen C. Mitchell, 92, of Willow Street, Pa., formerly of Perry Street in Reading, passed away Thursday, October 26th, at the Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, Pa.

Born in Reading, Helen was the daughter of the late Anna C. (Haas) and Nathaniel

McDevitt.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph F. Mitchell, retired city engineer of Reading. They were married for 63 wonderful years.

A member of St. Joseph RC Church, Reading, Pa., and a 1943 graduate of St. Peter's RC High School, Helen worked as an inspector at the former Wilson Products until 1954.

In addition to her husband, she was a devoted mother to her 4 children: Joseph P. Mitchell, of Willow Street, Pa.; James D. Mitchell, husband of Denise, of Stevens, Pa.; Robert T. Mitchell, husband of Kathleen, of Muhlenberg Twp.; Mary Jane, wife of James Rochester, MD, of Lancaster, Pa. Helen will be greatly missed by her 9 adoring grandchildren: Kaitlan, Chelsea, Haley & Jameson Mitchell, Christina, Kimberly & Sara Mitchell, Emily & Mitchell Rochester.

She is also survived by a brother, Gerald L. McDevitt and was predeceased by 8 brothers: James, Vincent, Joseph, Francis, Leon, Edward, Robert and David McDevitt; and two sisters, Jane Antosy and Clare Miley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4th, at St. Joseph RC Church in Reading, Pa. Interment follows the service at Gethsemane Cemetery Reading, Pa.
