Born October 6, 1940, in Coamo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Francisca Morales and Ernesto Alvarado.

Rosa was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where she was active with the Sacred Heart Ladies. Rosa loved to play bingo. She loved her family so much and enjoyed cooking for her children and grandchildren, especially for their Sunday night dinners.

Rosa is survived by her children: Luis A. Gonzalez Sr., husband of Maritza (Ortiz) Gonzalez, Exeter Twp., Jose A. Gonzalez, husband of Maria I. (Martinez) Gonzalez, Shoemakersville, Madeline (Gonzalez) Vega, wife of Carlos A. Vega, Bernville and Wanda (Duran) Reynolds, wife of Anthony D. Reynolds, Shillington. She is also survived by her granddaughter and caregiver, Kiana, her other grandchildren: K'drian, Luis Jr., Maria, Jose, Rebecca, Jacob, Jose, Maritza, William, Natasha and Vanessa; her 17 great-grandchildren; her great-great grandson; her sisters, Juanita Marrero and Cruz Maria Alicea; and by her brother, Manuel Espada. In addition, Rosa is survived by her close friend and caregiver, Cindy.

Along with her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her siblings, Luis Espada, Gabriel Alvarado, Matilde Alvarado and Martina Espada.

Services for Rosa will begin on Sunday, July 30, 2017, with a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd., Fleetwood. Another viewing will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by Rosa's funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will then take place in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
